Sarai, You did a very good job clearly defining the sides and how they differed due to the Nazi lies and what the ghetto's were actually like. I also like how you made sure to specify that the poem didn't actually say it was in a Ghetto, making the mood of the writer and the reason for the poem more evident. Great blog.
Sarai, I loved your butterfly! I thought that you had one of most creative ones. My favorite part of your butterfly is the little hands. Those are my favorite because it shows a piece of the poem through a 3D object. I think that is really cool. In your explanations I thought you did really good! You explained everything really well and I could see what you were talking about through them. My favorite explanation is the one about the imagery and the cars. This one is my favorite because you used a direct quote and explained your reasoning on painting these cars. Overall, you have a great project!
Sarai, you had a REALLY good butterfly! The poem you had just by itself was very powerful and I think you gave it justice through your project. With that, your butterfly interpretations were very creative. I really liked how you made the hand prints to symbolize "For soft hands to shield the eyes." I thought that was rather creative, along with the eyes and bandaid you put. While you did a great job at showing things on your butterfly (especially the dawn! And the cars!), you also did a great job at your explanations. After reading them, I was able to fully understand the symbolism and interpretations of your butterfly. Great job!
Sarai, I believe that you should've switched the two tones of the butterfly. The poem spoke of the Night as something with a positive connotation, yet you put the blood and the bandages at night. I also believe that you should have made daytime something horrifying, "For all the horrors stared by day." But other than that, it looks beautiful, really. I was able to completely tell the amount of work that you put into this butterfly. Really easy and simple to understand, good job.
